Knowledge
1. General management and organizational governance practices
2. Eskom environmental management strategy, business plans, policies and procedures
3. Overview of Generation division and the overall water value chain
4. Impact of the Generation business activities on the natural water resources (rivers/streams/wetlands/ponds/ground water etc.)
5. Understanding and application of relevant water legislations and other environmental management tools across Generation division.
6. Water management at different types of power stations and integrated environmental management (sustainable development)
7. Obtaining and maintaining relevant water use authorizations for construction, operational and decommissioning sites as per National Water Act and Water Services Act, consequences of non-adherence to authorization
8. Water use license/permits and auditing purposes
9. Project management and application of contract management
10. Practical application of system theory
11. Root cause analysis techniques
12. Concepts, principles and processes associated with integrated risk management
13. Construction, use and application of relevant environmental reports i.e. research, performance, due-diligence, annual, environmental expenditure etc., reports
14. Principles, concepts and applications regarding consulting in a business environment
15. Research methodology, leading practices, structure, requirements and application of ISO 14001
16. Sources and processes for remaining current on environmental management issues i.e. climate change, energy efficiency, new technology
17. Identify relevant water topics and conduct and/or influence environmental research, investigation and analysis
18. Legal requirements, processes, activities

1. Provide an environmental support and advisory service
2. Minimize financial and legal risks to Eskom.

Minimum requirements
Qualification(s):
B Degree/B Tech/Advanced Diploma in Natural Sciences/Environmental Management at NQF7 with 360 credits
Related Minimum Experience:
Five (5) Years experience in environmental management
