- Knowledge of Transmission Network
- Working knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of line work
- Considerable knowledge of the principles of electrical theory
- Operating Regulations High Voltage System Authorisation (ORHVS) to take plant handover
- Basic knowledge of Occupation Health Safety ACT (OHSA)
- Knowledge of software applications (Transmission information System Application and Products Plant Maintenance)
Skills:
- Communication
- Operation of the listed tools and equipment
- Drivers licence Code 8 and Advance 4X4 driving skills
- Computer literate (particular Microsoft word and excel packages)
- Ability to work at heights
- Level 2 Line maintenance Competency Authorisation
- Leve 4 (Emergency restoration system lead supervisor) Construction Competency Authorisation (CCA)
- Advanced rigging skills
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work under extreme weather conditions

Minimum requirements
Qualification(s):
- NCV4/NSC3/Grade 12 with Maths & Science at NQF 4 with 120 Credits

- 2 years Technical experience
