Position/Task Grade: E-Band Department: Data Warehouse Business Unit: Information Technology Reporting to the Chief Technology and Information Officer the General Manager Data Warehouse will be responsible to provide strategic leadership, oversee strategic development, implementation and management of the organisation centralised data repository and the data governance framework, ensure the availability, integrity and security of critical business data to support data-driven decision-making, regulatory compliance and operational excellence, integrate data from various sources, ensure data quality and consistency, support business intelligence initiatives and enable effective decision-making through comprehensive data analysis.

o   Google’s fully managed, petabyte-scale, low -cost data warehouse for analytics (BIGQUERY)

Key Responsibilities

 

·   Ensure regulatory compliance by monitoring data privacy, security, industry-specific legal requirements to protect the organisation from fraudulent activities.

·  Enhance data quality, security by establishing processes for validation, reconciliation and master data management.

·       Be responsible for analytics Centre of Excellence across the organisation.

·       Develop and implement a unified strategy, objectives, goals and policies for the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).

·       Implement a data stewardship framework, assigning roles and responsibilities across business units.

·       Manage data storage across the entire Enterprise Data Warehouse.

·       Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data strategy with business objectives.

Minimum requirements

Qualification(s):

·       B Degree in Data Science/Information Technology/Computer Science/ Information Systems at NQF7 with 360 credits or

·       B Tech in in Data Science/Information Technology/Computer Science/ Information Systems at NQF7 with 360 credits or

·       Advanced Diploma in Data Science/Information Technology/Computer Science/Information Systems at NQF7 with 360 credits  

Plus

·       Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) and The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF)

Experience: 

·       10 years’ Data management including both data warehousing and data governance, proven track record of implementing and managing large-scale enterprise data warehouses, extensive experience with data governance frameworks and regulatory compliance, leading cross-functional teams and driving enterprise-wide initiatives.
