Key Responsibilities
• Employee Management: recruitment, training and management of employees through the implementation of training plans for employees within the Waste Management Department to ensure competency and alignment with waste management objectives.
• Contract Management: Ensure understanding of contractual obligations and contract conditions to be executed and managed. e.g. NEC contract knowledge.
• Contract Negotiation: Negotiate supplier contracts for favourable outcomes.
• Budgeting: Maintain sound business acumen by ensuring accuracy in budgeting to ensure business cost optimisation.
• Cost Management: Ensure operational activities are executed within contractual and budgeting frameworks to manage operational costs and regularly review the cost of doing business against targets to prevent loss.
• Compliance: ensuring compliance with all relevant and applicable legislation, including NEMWA and associated regulations; National Road Traffic Act and SANS Codes; OHS Act and regulations; and Municipal Bylaws.
• Business Management: plan, organise, lead and control all aspects relating to waste management operations under your portfolio.
• Stakeholder and Relationship Management: foster and maintain sound internal and external relationships
• Document Control: maintain and review operational permits/ certifications and all other relevant documents and records relevant to overall operations.

• Report Writing: compile monthly reports and ensure close-out of action items emanating from meetings and other business engagements.

Minimum requirements
Qualification(s):
• B Degree/ BTech in Transportation/ Logistics/ Supply Chain Management.
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years related experience within Logistics Field.
