To provide support to the operational area of the business unit through preparation of competitive proposals, accurate estimates, negotiation, and conclusion of contracts with favorable terms, as well as providing commercial and contractual guidance.
Job description

Skills:

·       Good Financial and Technical Skills with regards to Construction Work, especially Civil and Electrical

·       Strong Communication and Presentation Skills and ability to interact with Senior Management

·       Good Inter-Personal Skills

·       Good ability to write Reports and Presentations: Clear Written, Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication Skills

·       English as preferred Language to Speak, Write and Communicate

·       Computer Literate (Microsoft Office Suite, Scheduling Software, Financial Systems)

·       Good Management & Organisational Skills, Ability to Manage Conflict and Change Management Skills, CCS Candy

 

Knowledge:

·       Strong understanding of Electrical and Civil Construction Industries

·       Good Knowledge and experience in Measuring of Construction Work and Quantity Surveying

·       Good knowledge and understanding of the NEC Suite of Documents

·       Good Knowledge and Understanding of the SABS/SANS 1200 Document

Key Responsibilities

1.     Monitor and ensure compliance to relevant policies and procedures

2.     Contribute to Strategic Planning and Continuous Improvement

3.     Building relationships with the clients, subcontractors, and suppliers

4.     Preparation of detailed construction Costs Estimates

5.     Attend on-site tender clarification meetings and internal pre- and post-tender adjudication meetings

6.     Commercial Management (Contractual negotiations and inherent risk management)

7.     Communication and Recordkeeping

8.     Reporting

Minimum requirements

Qualification(s): 
• B Degree / B Tech/National Higher Diploma in Quantity Surveying at NQF 7 with 360 Credits 
Experience:
•  5 years’ experience in Electrical, Mechanical or Civils Construction Industry related to Quantity Surveying
