Skills:
· Sound Technical knowledge of Power Station Maintenance including Protection and Control Systems
· Understand and interpret Engineering Drawings including Hydraulics and Pneumatics
· Familiar with SABS ISO 9002 Quality Systems and OHSA
· Familiar with Eskom Rotek Industries BMS system including Grievance and Disciplinary Procedure, House Agreement
· And Quality Process
· Ability to Maintain a high-quality standard of work
· Be able to use measuring equipment and care thereof
· Be able to work to close tolerances
· Good Measuring Skills, Technique and care of Measuring Instruments and Calibration thereof
· Fitting Skill – Must be able to dismantle, refurbish and reassemble mechanical components
· Communication, Planning and Technical Report Writing Skills
· Have the ability to carry out fault finding, Problem solving and Analysis Skills
· Ability to carry out Mentorship processes to Trainees and Learners
· People Management and Conflict Resolution Skills
Knowledge:
· To undertake the responsibility of the quality of work and ensuring subordinates comply with Quality Standards.
· To understand and ensure that Quality assurance procedures, work instructions and standards are adhered.
· Authorised in terms of Eskom Plant Safety Regulations
· To ensure the compliance with Safety and environment, rules, regulations and personal protective equipment requirements
· To ensure compliance with Quality standards and Procedures
· To ensure effective utilization, care and control of tools and equipment

SHEQ Responsibilities
· Continuous Improvement: Ensure that your administration documents is current, and includes your SHEQ objectives
· Ensure that all labour appointment are valid and in place for your area of control
· SHE Compliance: As a Section 8 & 9 appointee, you are to ensure that the duties of the employer as contemplated in the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 are properly discharged and all legal appointments are valid and in place for your area of Control
· Reduce rework: Measure and report on Rework vs. Revenue for your department on a monthly basis and ensure you reduce rework to less than 0.5% of your turnover
· ISO and OHSAS certification: Ensure that all activities are carried out as per the documented processes and comply with requirements of ISO and OHSAS certification
· Audits Rating: Maintain an audit score of less than 2 and/or receive no major audit finding

Minimum requirements
Qualification(s):
· National Diploma /N6/N4 and Trade test in Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
· Diploma/N6 5 Years related experience.
· N4 15 Years related experience
