Position: Works Senior Welding Engineer Area of Specialization and Key Responsibilities: To provide welding engineering solution and technical support to Turbo Gen Services Works and site operations by ensuring that welding fabrication and/or refurbishment activities on turbo generator and associated plant are executed safely and in accordance with the relevant standards Task Grade: (M17) Vacancy Type:Internal/External Department: Works Engineering Business Unit: Turbo Gen Services Location: Rosherville No of Position:X1
Job description

Skills:

·       Technical competency in workshop turbine engineering, maintenance, refurbishment and overhaul.

·       Ability to conduct investigations, compile scopes of work, procedures, quality and maintenance plans.

·       Analytical and problem-solving skills.

·       High level of computer literacy in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, MS Projects and CAD.

·       Effective English communication skills, and able to communicate at all levels in the organization.

Knowledge:

·       Above average engineering and technical knowledge of turbo generator and power generation equipment.

·       Knowledge of quality management systems and relevant ISO standards.

·       Knowledge of the OHSA, Constriction Regulations and Environmental Regulations.

 Attributes:

Minimum requirements

Qualification(s):

·       B Tech Metallurgical Engineering Minimum ten (10) years related experience

·       BSc/BEng Metallurgical Engineering fifteen Minimum (15) years related experience years related experience

  Professional Registration Body:

·       International Welding Engineer (IWE) or Welding Technologist (IWT)

·       Engineering Council of South Africa (PrEng/PrTechEng)

  Experience:

·       Related experience specifically in the engineering aspects of maintenance, refurbishment and overhaul of large Power Generation Steam and Gas Turbo generator plant.

·       Experience of quality management systems and relevant ISO standards.

·       Experience of the OHSA, Construction Regulations and Environmental Regulations.

·       Minimum fifteen (15) years related experience

·       Minimum ten (10) years related experience
