Introduction
Area of specialization: To provide executive and strategic leadership over the national electricity Market Operator function for NTCSA, with full accountability for market integrity, financial settlement, liquidity and credit risk, and regulatory compliance. The role ensures that South Africa’s wholesale electricity markets operate efficiently, transparently, and sustainably, in line with legislative mandates, while safeguarding system security, public interest, and NTCSA’s financial sustainability. The role is central to the transition from a single-buyer model to a competitive, multi-market electricity framework and carries national accountability for the design, governance, and operation of approved electricity markets. Minimum requirements

Qualification(s) 

  • B Eng./ BSc. Degree in Engineering/ Energy Management at NQF 8 with 480 credits

Experience 

  • 15 Extensive Energy industry wide experience at senior management level
  • Technical and technology leadership experience
