Position: Senior Manager, Communication and Reputation Management Position/Task Grade: EEE Department: Corporate Affairs Business Unit: Group Communication & Reputation Area of specialization: Reporting to the General Manager Corporate Affairs, the Senior Manager: Group Communications and Reputation Management will lead and direct the execution of Eskom’s integrated internal and external communications, media relations, reputation management, crisis communication and issues management portfolio. The role will ensure consistent communication of Eskom’s strategic priorities, proactive management of reputation risks and effective positioning of the organization and its executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

·   Formulate and lead the implementation of Eskom’s Group Communications and Reputation Management strategy to support the organisation’s strategic direction and positioning.

·   Lead the implementation of integrated internal and external communication, reputation management, crisis communication and issues management programmes aligned with Eskom’s strategic priorities.

·   Lead and optimise the function’s people, budget, systems, governance, performance and other resources to ensure effective delivery.

·  Develop and lead Eskom’s media relations strategy, including proactive narrative management, media engagement and the management of high-risk or sensitive media matters.

·   Provide strategic communication counsel and positioning support to the Group Chief Executive, Executive Committee and the General Manager Corporate Affairs.

 

Minimum requirements

Qualification(s):

·       B Degree in Public Relations/ Public Administration/ Communication/ Marketing at NQF 7 level with 360 credits 

·       B Tech in Public Relations/ Public Administration/ Communication/ Marketing at NQF 7 level with 360 credits or

·       Advanced Diploma in Public Relations/ Public Administration/ Communication/ Marketing at NQF 7 level with 360 credits.

Experience:

· 10 years’ proven experience in a communication, stakeholder management, reputation management and crisis management environment at management level in a large organisation.
